Hoppy Copy launched in 2022 as an AI copywriter for marketing emails. Today its homepage leads with weekly newsletters, and it sends them for you.

Hoppy Copy is an all-in-one email platform that writes, designs, sends, and automates email with AI. It also tracks what your competitors send.

Whether it's worth paying for depends on who you are and where you send:

  • A small business with a list under 3,000 that wants one tool for writing and sending. Run the 7-day trial.
  • An agency that tracks clients' competitors. Run the trial too. Competitor monitoring is its most distinctive feature.
  • A writer settled on beehiiv, Kit, or Substack. Skip it. You'd pay for sending you won't use, and every draft leaves as an HTML file.

One warning applies to everyone. Hoppy Copy's pricing page currently shows two conflicting plan sets, and the pricing section below sorts out which one looks current.

I co-founded and sold a digital publication with more than 100k subscribers, and I write with AI every week. I also built Flyletter, an AI newsletter tool. Hoppy Copy's move into newsletters makes it a direct competitor. Weigh my verdict with that in mind.

What Hoppy Copy Is and How It Works

Hoppy Copy has changed shape twice since its 2022 launch. In October 2024 it added sending, forms, audiences, automations, and analytics, which turned it into a full email platform. In August 2025 it added autopilot newsletters and an Idea Feed, and its homepage now leads with weekly newsletters.

You choose the model. Hoppy Copy lets you pick GPT, Claude, Gemini, or Perplexity across its writing tools, and live web search works inside any of them. Brand Memory feeds those tools your website, blog, reviews, docs, and RSS feeds. Drafts start from your own material.

The company is small. Co-founders Josh Bluman and Andrey Marchuk run it as Hoppy AI Inc., and its site says it's built in Vancouver and Santa Monica.

How We Reviewed Hoppy Copy

I reviewed Hoppy Copy on five questions a buyer asks: how well it writes, how it learns your brand voice, how its workflow runs, how it sends and connects to other tools, and what it costs.

The information comes from Hoppy Copy's homepage, pricing page, help center, blog, and terms, all checked in October 2026. I added published reviews from Elegant Themes, eCommerce Fastlane, and Originality.ai, user reviews on G2, and my own experience writing with AI. Hoppy Copy is also one of seven tools in our ranking of the best AI tools for newsletter writing, where each one is judged on the same criteria.

(I haven't run Hoppy Copy through a controlled test, and independent hands-on reviews of it are thin. Weigh the writing sections with that in mind.)

Hoppy Copy's Drafts Lean Promotional

Its drafts come out well structured, and they read like marketing email. That suits a launch sequence better than a newsletter people open for your thinking.

Reviewers see both sides of that. Originality.ai found a product launch email well structured and on brand. Elegant Themes, in a review last updated in January 2025, found output that "can sometimes be overly spammy," and eCommerce Fastlane found the brand voice still needed heavy editing. G2 reviewers describe spending several retries to get the tone right.

A few features work in its favor. You pick the model for every tool and can switch when one writes better for you. Live web search pulls in current information. The built-in spam checker scores both risky keywords and the context of the whole email before you send it.

Brand Voice Combines Your Samples With Rules You Write

Hoppy Copy builds a voice from your writing, then lets you write the rules down. That gives you more control than a tone preset.

A voice starts with samples of your emails and posts, plus notes on your tone and style. From there you can add explicit rules for capitalization, punctuation, and words to avoid, or start from one of Hoppy Copy's prebuilt voices.

Brand Memory carries the facts. It stores your products, customer pain points, testimonials, and pricing, and it syncs your website, blog, reviews, docs, and RSS feeds. It can also learn from emails you've already sent, through an RSS feed or a CSV upload.

The limits depend on the plan. Start includes 3 brand voices and 7 knowledge assets, and Platform includes 5 voices and 20 assets.

Hoppy Copy Covers Newsletters, Sequences, and Your Competitors' Inboxes

Hoppy Copy handles both halves of an email program, the weekly newsletter and the promotional sequence.

For newsletters, the AI Newsletter Creator pulls trending news, research, and forum discussion from your niche, adds your RSS feeds, and writes your brand's commentary around them. Idea Feed sends you fresh newsletter ideas each week and drops them into a content calendar, where each one becomes a draft in one click. Start includes one idea feed, and Platform runs three autopilot newsletter engines.

For promotions, the sequence planner builds welcome, launch, abandoned cart, win-back, and post-purchase flows. It sits alongside more than 50 writing and image tools.

Competitor monitoring is the feature that sets Hoppy Copy apart. It subscribes to competitors' email lists and archives everything they send. You can search that archive by topic or date, set alerts for new emails, and export what you find. Start tracks 10 competitors and Platform tracks 50, and agencies that report on their clients' markets get the most out of it.

Sending Is Built In, and Exporting Is Basic

Send from Hoppy Copy and everything lives in one place. Keep your current email platform and you get an HTML file.

Sending comes with:

  • Unlimited emails, automations, and forms
  • Multiple brands and sending domains
  • Segments based on who opens, who clicks, and who's gone quiet
  • Analytics on opens and clicks

Start and Platform cap you at 3,000 subscribers, and a dedicated IP comes only with Enterprise. Hoppy Copy also advertises higher open rates and near-perfect deliverability, and I couldn't verify either claim.

Exporting is basic. You download each email as HTML for Mailchimp, HubSpot, ActiveCampaign, or Constant Contact, and the native integrations are Shopify and Zapier. No Hoppy Copy page names beehiiv, Kit, or Substack.

Read the data terms before you sign up. Hoppy Copy's terms allow it to train its AI on your campaign content, and they describe no way to opt out. Its privacy policy was last updated in February 2023.

Hoppy Copy Pricing

As of October 2026, Hoppy Copy's pricing page shows two plan sets at once. The current plans, which are the only ones on its homepage, look like this:

PlanMonthlyBilled yearlyWhat you get
Start$49/mo$39/mo2 users, 3 brand voices, 10 competitors, 3,000 subscribers, unlimited sends
Platform$49/mo$39/mo3 users and workspaces, 3 newsletter engines, 5 brand voices, 50 competitors
Managed$79/mo$49/moEverything in Platform, plus 2 to 3 human-polished newsletters a month and an account manager
Scale / EnterpriseCustomCustomMore engines and seats, custom models, and a dedicated IP

The page is unclear in four places:

  • Each plan lists two prices without saying which is monthly, so the table reads the higher one as monthly, in line with the page's billing toggle.
  • Start and Platform show the same price despite different limits.
  • Managed's yearly price is 38% below its monthly price, against a toggle that promises 20% savings.
  • An older Starter, Pro, and Pro+ table, at $29, $49, and $99 a month, still sits lower on the page.

The trial and refund terms conflict too. The site says the 7-day trial needs no credit card, while the terms describe a charge when the trial ends. The help center offers a refund within 7 days of your first payment, while the terms say all sales are final.

For a weekly newsletter, Start works out to about $9 to $11 an issue, and that includes sending.

Hoppy Copy Pros and Cons

Independent ratings are sparse. Hoppy Copy holds 4.8 out of 5 on G2, but from only 34 reviews as of October 2026.

Pros

  • Writing and sending in one tool. You draft, design, and send without exporting anything.
  • Competitor monitoring. It archives what competitors send and alerts you to new emails.
  • Your choice of model. You can switch between GPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity.
  • Voice from samples plus rules. You control capitalization, punctuation, and words to avoid.
  • A built-in spam checker. It scores each email before you send it.
  • A low price for what's included. The current Start plan covers writing and sending to 3,000 subscribers for $39 to $49 a month.

Cons

  • Conflicting pricing. The pricing page shows two plan sets.
  • Promotional default output. Drafts need editing to sound like you.
  • Training on your content. Its terms allow it, and they describe no opt-out.
  • A 3,000-subscriber cap. Start and Platform stop there.
  • HTML-only export. There's no direct connection to beehiiv, Kit, or Substack.
  • Few independent reviews. There's little hands-on testing to check its claims against.

Is Hoppy Copy Good for Newsletters?

Hoppy Copy now puts newsletters first. Its newsletter engine starts from trending news and your brand's own content. That makes it a better fit for issues built on news and product updates than for issues built on your own expertise.

Measured against the five criteria we use to judge every newsletter tool:

  • Voice fidelity. This is its weak spot. Reviewers report retries and edits before drafts sound like the brand.
  • Full issue or block by block. Hoppy Copy writes full issues, and the Managed plan adds human editing on 2 to 3 of them a month.
  • Setup work per issue. Idea Feed supplies the topics each week, so your work is choosing, reviewing, and editing.
  • Fit with where you publish. The fit is strong if you send from Hoppy Copy and weak if you publish on beehiiv, Kit, or Substack.
  • Cost per issue. A weekly issue on Start works out to about $9 to $11, with sending included.

For a newsletter built on your own expertise, our guide to the best AI tools for newsletter writing compares seven tools on that job.

Hoppy Copy Alternatives

The right alternative depends on how you write and where you send:

  • Jasper fits marketing teams writing ads, product pages, and blog content at scale. Our Jasper AI review covers it in depth.
  • beehiiv AI fits writers polishing drafts they write themselves inside beehiiv.
  • HeyNews fits curated news digests built from other people's stories.
  • Flyletter fits anyone turning what they know into a weekly newsletter in their voice. (Yes, I built it.) Flyletter's features show how it works.

Is Hoppy Copy Worth It?

Hoppy Copy is worth it if you want one tool to write and send your email, and your list fits under its cap. Match it to your situation:

  • Small business or creator under 3,000 subscribers. Try it. Writing and sending in one place is the core of what you'd pay for.
  • Agency tracking clients' competitors. Try it, because competitor monitoring alone can justify the subscription.
  • Writer settled on beehiiv, Kit, or Substack. Skip it. You'd be exporting HTML every week.
  • Anyone who won't accept training on their content. Skip it until the terms change.

Run the 7-day trial, and confirm the price and the refund terms before you pay.
